I just had to post again today, I was in such bad form yesterday that i thought "hey snap out of it & stop being such a sulk, post something nice!!!!! " So here i am in a better mood wanting to share my day so far today. Had a great start, we took Sophie & Lauren out for brekkie at Dromoland (had vouchers, so nooooo we are not loaded).
Sat by this fire & totally pigged out, full irish breakfast (for those who don't know what that is.......) bacon, sausages, black & white pudding, eggs, tomatoes, mushroom, chunky chips, toast & lots of coffee, followed by scones with homemade jams & vanilla whipped cream...............................................haven't eaten since, still feel full. Ohhh it was soooooooooo YUM, the company was great too as was the open fire :D Just to bring a wee bit of balance we took a little stroll in the garden afterward, have a peek............
Even though Autumn is well & truly here the gardens look so beautiful, food for the soul,
Never loses its appeal, we come out here at Christmas, and its always lovely, specially the mince pies they serve in the golf club, not that any of us play golf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But we do, most definitely indulge in mince pies :). On to some projects i'm working on at the moment, My African Flower throw is not progressing as well as i thought it would
Truth be told its boring me to tears, so expect a taa dah on this in say................... 10 years, just kidding, i will keep at it but a bit at a time, second to other things. I started a less fiddly throw instead..............................
Its to be made up of eight inch squares in very subtle colors.............light grey, charcoal, cream, natural, very nice heather & i want to include a real soft pink in there too. All the yarn is pure irish wool, apart from the heather which was a gift from Sandi, its australian wool, so soft i want to keep it up to my face all day. Thats a throw back to when i was little, i used to have a fur glove called "fuff fuff" no laughing please, & kept it stuck to my face constantly, guess i just love the warm feeling of it, thanks Sandi :) Its quite basic, with different stitches to create different textures.
I'm very much influenced by this beautiful blanket. Have admired it for so long, but don't want to do a replica so am putting my own touches & ideas in.........................
Have also been doing a quick scarf, one of those wiggley ones, can't remember the proper name for them so here..................... if you know the name let me KNOW !!!!!!
Its a lovely soft green in (gosh i'm not even sure what the yarn is, doesn't say on the label) feels good though. These are great, they make up so fast, sometimes its real nice to see quick results, don't you think :D
On a good bye for now note, all the pay it forwaed gifts & the giveaway gifts will be posted out at the weekend, sure hope you guys like Xx
Lots & lots of love for now, do leave a comment if you drop by

Hi Karen
Good to hear you are feeling better.
I just love all your projects! What a busy bee you are. I especially love your choice of soft, gentle colours.
I have several projects on the go at the moment and pick up whichever one i am in the mood for! As a beginner, all my projects are simple and slow progress but oh boy do i enjoy them.
Thanks for another inspiring post.

I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better Karen. Sometimes (it's oh so hard), we just have to decide to get on with it which you did in fantastic style! :) That breakfast, I couldn't begin to imagine how I could start the day with so much food. I'm glad you enjoyed it though, toasting your toes next the open fire.
The gardens look beautiful, lots of pretty flowers.
I see you have lot's of hooky projects to keep you busy, have fun with those.
Have a wonderful day,
Anne xx

Hummm, what is white pudding??? Wow your breakfasts are way bigger than ours, I wouldn't be able to move for a week if I ate all that hehe. am loving your blanket (your new one) although I do like your African one too. Your crochet is so neat, just like your sewing.

Hi Karen!
Your breakfast looked so yummy, but for an American girl, what the heck is black and white pudding? :)
I love the african flowers and would love to see your version of Mia's blanket!

Hi gorgeous girl, oh wow your breakfast sounded amazing!! I'm sitting here with my tummy rumbling after reading about it. Oh no - you're not enjoying your African flower blanket! I'm just about start one. Should I re-think it - is it really boring? Loving the new design though - what a great idea to use different stitches on each square. Can't wait to see the finished item hon. Have a fabulous week hon - take care. Leah x
