I'm so happy to be able to make something like this for my mom, she was the one that taught me to sew at a very young age, along with my grandmother, sewing was a huge part of family life. When i took it further & studied fashion design for four years, she was there all the way encouraging me, loving my work & paying my way, an absolute angel. So its her birthday on monday, but she lives in Perth, Australia now, i don't get to see her very often at all, so i wanted to do something special, i hope she likes it.
I have this amazing woman for a mother, at 55 she went back to uni in australia & spent four years training to be a nurse, now she works full tome with elderly people & just loves it, she loves them, loves the work & never fails to amaze me Xxxxxx
On another subject, i need opinions, you're gonna think i'm a complete flake but i'm considering moving back to blogger. I've been here for a month now & cannot figure out even with tec support how to do a lot of design stuff on here, blogspot was so easy & now i'm stumped. Also following my fav blogs which are mainly on blogspot is quite difficult & others find it difficult to follow my posts. Am i mad!!!! Advice needed, what do you think???????????????
Before i log off, a wee peek at some more gifts i received today
A pretty necklace from Ella........................................so sweet, she asked Lauren for the money to buy it :D smart eight year old
My fav perfume from my lovely husband, then off out to dinner tonight, sqeeeeeeeeeel can't wait, major pig out time :)
Also got a voucher from some dear friends for another meal out in dromoland castle, oh i am feeling loved & spoiled.
Off to get dolled up soon, so you all have a good weekend
Lots of love Karen Xxxxx

That's just so lovely, what you wrote about your mum, and the quilt is just beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. :)
Yes - move back to Blogger - I find it so easy to use - don't know why you left? - but also I've got you on my "favourite blogs" list on my sidebar, and with Blogger blogs it shows a photo from the last post which looks great, but it can't do that for typepad. Also with Blogger you can do a favicon which shows on the address bar, which I love!

Happy day to you! Since all the problems with blogger before, there's many things I can't do now, but I'm afraid to change or do anything else for fear of losing it all, so I just stick with what I've got and don't try to do anything fancy. Good luck making your decision. Best wishes for the weekend. Tammy P.S. I like how you are jazzing up the afghan you've been working on. :)

Karen, beautiful quilt, such a great gift for your mum, a wonderful inspring woman, just like you, and Ella (excellent gift choice)! I think your post suggests you wish to return to blogging. Love the crochet rug, your beach crochet so inprired me, I had a go at it while in Majorca, and have a work in progress now, which I plan to post in acceptance of your recent bestowed award. Thank you for the beautiful posts, I loved catching up, big hugs, Margie.

Lovely quilt, such pretty colours. Just wondering if you had any advice on blogger? Mine seems to be doing the same as your old blog, not showing my latest post on other's favourites. Don't know if it will sort out in time?

The quilt you made your Mom is beautiful; such lovely calming colours.
I've no advice to offer about blogs I'm afraid as I'm a complete numpty when it comes to computers but I find Blogger so easy to use. I still can't get your email on here to work though to send you my home address for the pay it forward.

Thank you Karen for the heads up. I haven't been lucky in giveaways, but who knows?
I was reading about your. What an inspiring woman. That's so great that he turned her life like at at 55, and now she does something she loves. Very interesting woman.
I'm sorry I can't not advise you about switching to blogspot again, as I don't know anything about typepad. Good luck with this decision.

Margie sent me over to see what you're doing here. I have always wondered about TypePad so thank you for your comments comparing Blogspot and TypePad. Guess I'll stay put.
This quilt you've done for your mother is so lovely. I know that she is going to adore it and how special that it will cover her and keep her warm. That's what quilts represent to me...warmth and love.
